Souvenirs from the life of the family “Dr Maszkowski and the school in Skolimów” – a family album and photos
We cordially welcome visitors to the GA.PA gallery,
From our family album and family life, we would like to present the medical doctor Mieczysław Maszkowski, whose whole life passion was the patriotic education of Poles. He finished his work by establishing in 1906 and running a school for girls in Skolimów (near Warsaw) for many years, in accordance with the slogan of our former Educational Commission mentioned in the attached school description: The school’s attempt is to teach them to love: God, people, work, nature, science, books, art, our past and future, so that they consider work for the country not only a duty, but a happiness ”.
Doctor Maszkowski, after his death in 1936, bequeathed his school to his will and handed over to the Polish White Cross organization (the pre-war equivalent of the contemporary Polish Red Cross organization).
Attached – photos of the school plus a collective photo, a school brochure, including a description of the former Skolimów, Dr. Maszkowski from Krzemieniec, where he died on October 21, 1936.
